What is mixed math practice?
A mixed math worksheet puts more than one already learned skill on the same page. Instead of repeating one operation, the student decides which method each separate question needs. This generator can mix two operations, four operations, or six subject areas.
How do you solve a mixed worksheet?
Read the symbol or instruction
A plus sign asks for addition, a division sign asks for equal groups, and a fraction question needs its own fraction method.
Solve one question at a time
Choose the method that matches that question, then calculate the answer.
Check with the opposite operation
Where possible, use subtraction to check addition or multiplication to check division.
Worked example: two different operations
For 14 + 8, combine the numbers to get 22. For 42 ÷ 6, ask how many groups of 6 make 42: the answer is 7. One sheet can contain both questions, but each has its own method.
